Housing Sales Rebounding
Nationwide, the housing market is showing signs of improvement. Closed sales in the Portland metro area for July showed a marked improvement over a year ago, resulting in the first time same-month closed sales have increased since April 2007. We are seeing many homes receiving acceptable offers within less than a month on the market, and in many cases sellers are receiving multiple offers on their home. At the same time, inventory is falling - the Portland metro area is now at 7.3 months of inventory much closer to the 'normal market' estimates of around 6 months.
